It suggests a ridiculous wish of amnesia.
This movie reveals a attempt to protest politics that is why it is so successful.
Almost as a light in the end of a tunnel for people that lived that reality.
The 2d animation is based on conversations and flashbacks between the 2 main characters and the very concept of Israel's partial or indirect guilt, established by the government's own Kahan and therefore a guilt which Israel can concede without admitting any type of fault within its citizens, which makes this situation unfair and really painful.

This film uses Hyperrealrostoscope-animatoon
techniques which means a type of art of projection used by artists usually
animators, frame by frame, to trace over motion pictures footage. Nowadays this
type of techniques have been replaced and updated by computers making it much easier
and quicker to do.
Over a beer, the main character talks to the audience complaining about his recurring dreams stereotyping the 1982 Lebanese war as being chased by 26 savage dogs.

Folman speaks about something in the film that not
even his friend believes a 100 per cent. He apparently barely remembers these
times.
So he goes back on a scary journey to track down old memories talking to old war mates.

Apparently
everyone have different opinions and stories about the period of time which
made this animation turn into a impressive story.
