@Phil @Alan Premise - Influence Maps - Character Design
I did a influence maps in order to have basic shapes of real animals to work with the voice recordings that I did and design my characters for this project
Hi - In essence all of these are good choices. However, it would be better to make your decisions based alongside your audio. For example, create a folder of 'possible creatures' so that you are aware of what is in the oceans / on beaches - giving you a range of choices. Then listen to your audio and try to match them up - what makes the funniest/most appropriate/inappropriate match up? Alongside that, create a second influence map(s) that explores cartoon/character design/style. Overall, the three things...audio, creature, and style/design will give you 'characterisation (personality)'.
Hi @Alan, Thanks for the quick feedback, I'm thinking about creating more influences for more animals such as options and edit all of the good recordings perhaps I will be able to look at all of them while listening to the audio so I will be able to do some thumbnails after I want to post 4 things:
1: All Edited Audio(s) 2: Real Creatures & Character Design Research/examples (can create two PDF doc's to stop the post being too long). 3: Each edited audio clip alongside a choice of creature(s).
Basically - Here are all of my edited audio clips together in one post. Here are the creatures and style I might use in a (the next) post. Here is the creature I might use for this part of the audio, then the next part/creature, and so on in the final post. Hope that makes sense?

ReplyDeleteHi @Alan,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the quick feedback, I'm thinking about creating more influences for more animals such as options and edit all of the good recordings perhaps I will be able to look at all of them while listening to the audio so I will be able to do some thumbnails after I want to post 4 things:
1.Audios edited
2.Images of the animals as targets
3.References Character / Style/ Design
4.Thumbnails
Is that the right way?
Is that what you mean?
Hi Filipe...
ReplyDeleteI would create three posts...
1: All Edited Audio(s)
2: Real Creatures & Character Design Research/examples (can create two PDF doc's to stop the post being too long).
3: Each edited audio clip alongside a choice of creature(s).
