For the
Collaboration project we were assigned into a group consisting of three
members, Divine Uwadiale, Ollie Thacker and myself. At the briefing
we got giving a theme/guideline of “How to cheat at...”.
After a couple of days or
maybe a week we ended up choosing the theme /How to cheat at olympics/ because
we thought it could be good to show our knowledge in a short movie and had some
comedy to it as well. I feel like we got stuck at some point modelling complex
costumes for the character instead of adding the magic of the personality of
the character to make them special or different from the others. It could be so
much better if everyone in our group complete their own task for example: the
final scene was all set it up to be animated but isnt in the submission because
the "team" didn´t finish their job. To be honest I felt like we did a
lot of work that should be in the final video and it isnt, which in my opinion
would make the difference in aspects of understanding the script while watching
the video.
I am Glad I
have done this project and it was really hard to get it done to be honest. It
gave me the opportunity to learn to model and animate in Maya 2018 and also
gave me the opportunity to work with other artists in a team, with Ollie being
good team leader and keeping us organised and Divine being a good character
designer for costumes. I really enjoyed working in a team where we all flexible
enough to change idea if needed It is also important to work together like many students do it pretty much all the time in the campus which I tried to do it as well during majority of the project. This project has given an insight of what it
would be to deal with other ways of working and behaviour in creative
industry.
If I could
go back and do this project again I would definetely try to improve my
communication skills and availability.
