The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, 1920

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari(1920)is the genres horror and thriller German expressionist films, direct by Robert Wiene.

Apparently in a small town around Dutch border, Dr. Caligari accompanied by his somnambulist son Cesare,   that at the night walks through the city turning real the predictions of his master father ,Dr. Caligari.

                                                                     Fig. 1

It can be seen as a tale of murder and madness given the scenes and a whole depressing dark setting and an architecture with no rules of perspective the dramatic way in which sound effects are passed on to viewers

It is impressive how can a silent scenes well-structured movie scenes may turn out to be without such a good end product specially in that old times.
When the theme is silent movies everyone think about Charlie Chaplin ,Buster Keaton, the Keystone Cops.

They have been save in the viewers minds which makes these stunning artists fantastic However in that type of films it is all about comedy which is totally different in relation with this horror films.

  1. Hi Philipe! Well done on having a go at your first film review :)

I am going to give you a couple of general pointers at this stage, and then make a suggestion as to how you can get some support with English writing for academic purposes.

Firstly, have a look back at your post...you will see that it is very difficult to read, with the grey font against the black background. Also, you should avoid the white highlighter blocks; better to go for white text on the dark background.
If you haven't done s already, have a look at the film review tips I posted here -

    http://ucarochester-cgartsandanimation.blogspot.co.uk/2017/09/fao-1st-yearsfilm-review-tips.html

and Phil's academic writing advice here -

    http://ucarochester-cgartsandanimation.blogspot.co.uk/2017/09/fao-caa-yr-1-invisible-cities-2017.html

You will see that Phil has also given some examples of what a film review should look like.

I would suggest that you might want to get an appointment with Maxine Chester - she is the Learning Development Tutor for first years. She will be able to help you with your written English, and she will also be able to help you structure your writing correctly. To get an appointment with her, go to the library main desk (the Gateway Desk) and they can book that for you Alternatively you can email them here -
    gatewyrochester@uca.ac.uk

I would try and get an appointment with her as soon as possible, as she will probably get quite busy, once the first years start settling in properly!
